Easter in Armenia and in my family

Easter or “Zatik” in Armenia is one of the most colorful, joyful celebrations of the year. With traditions dating back thousands of years, visitors are invited to church ceremonies, to participate in community events, to feast like the locals and enjoy the warmth and hospitality of the region. Incense wafts from inside candlelit cathedrals, Easter eggs are dyed, often in dark red for the blood of Christ. Voices everywhere are raised in greeting and response of “Krisdos haryav ee merelotz!” – Christ is risen!” and “Orhnyal eh harootiunun Krisdosee!” – “Blessed is the resurrection of Christ!” while Easter eggs are cracked together! Sweet bread is shared and the table is decorated with colored eggs nestled in dishes of fresh spring grass. Armenia is filled with ancient temples, monasteries and churches, rich sacred and historical sites and the Holy Week of Easter is the most important time in this most ancient of Christian cultures. It was here in 301AD that Armenia officially adopted Christianity as the state religion. The rich history and culture, incredible scenery, continental climate, and modern amenities combine to make Armenia an unforgettable experience for travelers. From the mountain meadows of Tsakhkadzor to the historic churches of Echmiadzin, the cognac cellars and urban pulse of Yerevan, come and celebrate this most joyous of holidays in Armenia!

This is a tour suitable for Religious, Cultural, Photography, Family, Archaeological and Sightseeing. Available as a Group Tour or Private Tour. Suitable for family, boomers, anniversary, romantic and business.

Easter in my Family

In our family, Easter is celebrated in a very ordinary way. Every year we paint eggs before Easter. We paint eggs with red onions, this year we decided to do another. We put the leaf on the egg and tied it with a sack, then we took a sticky tape and made a smiling man and put those eggs in the red onion peel. In the morning my mother sent me to my sister’s home and we started playing there. Then, when I returned home, my mom had prepared for me a slack puppy.

I would commit suicide. I wouldn’t know the news, couldn’t communicate with my girlfriends, and so on. But there is one good thing that we would not be given a home because we work with the internet.

Always start with yourself

A married couple moved to a new home. In the morning they could hardly wake up when the woman looked out the window and saw a neighbor hanging washed linen to dry.

«See how dirty her linen is,» the woman said to her husband.
Her husband was reading the newspaper and did not pay attention to her.
‘Maybe he has bad soap or he doesn’t know how to wash. He needs to be taught.

And so every time a neighbor hung the laundry, she was amazed at how dirty it was.

One fine morning, looking out the window, he exclaimed:

«Oh, the neighbor’s linen is clean today.» He may have finally learned to wash.
‘Well, no,’ said her husband, ‘I just woke up early today and washed the window.

About what fills the soul

On one occasion, several people began to loudly criticize a wise man as he walked down the street. He heard everything, but he answered with a smile and wished him good health. Someone asked him:

«You smiled and wished these people well. Don’t you feel bad for them?»

The man replied:

— When I go to the market, I can only spend what is in my wallet. The same is true when communicating with people. I can only spend what fills my soul.
